Dear Coffee Times,

I have many happy memories associated with Coffee Times besides coming to visit when I'm in town, like: I had my first espresso at Coffee Times.

I introduced two of my friends to coffee at Coffee Times. Most dates I went on during college ended up at Coffee Times (or sometimes started there too!) My first french press came from Coffee Times.

A friend of mine named his band after Keith Haas, who used to work at Coffee Times (in the early 1990's, I think?)-after he played a show at some bar downtown we went to visit Keith while he was working. I watched coffee being roasted for the first time at Coffee Times (I was so inspired by it that my first job after I moved to Minnesota in 1997 was at a local coffee shop that does all of their own roasting in house-www.dunnbrosgrand.com)

Oh, I could go on... I know this probably sounds incredibly fawning of me, but I seriously mean it when I tell you that Coffee Times was a hugely influential part of my personal development. People complain a lot about how Lexington is primarily a town of chain restaurants (which it certainly seems to have a large number of, in all fairness), and franchises (I read Ace Weekly online just about every week, so I've seen some of that complaining in there), but I always think of Coffee Times as representing the very best of what Lexington is.

Keep it up, and I'll probably stop by sometime later this summer.

Pete
